My humble contribution to the Oekonux-conference held in wonderful Vienna.

 

The Hacker Ethic
Ethic is about right and wrong, good and bad; it has to do with character, it has to do with codes and principles for behaviour. The hacker ethic, then, is about the hacker's conceptions of right and wrong, about ethical hacker's character-traits, their codes and principles of behaviour. In order to present any account of the hacker ethic, we need to know what a hacker is.
